Wed. 7/3 - Small Scientists- Know a Small Scientist in need of a laboratory?  Join us each month at the library for STEM stories and sensory explorations. Sometimes messy but always fun! As a destination for discovery, your Fort Worth Public Library is a location for learners of any age. Thurs. 7/4 - Sensory Sensitive Independence Day Celebration. 6-10pm. At The Sound at Cypress Waters. Join The Sound for the third annual Sensory Sensitive Fourth of July Celebration at The Sound at Cypress Waters on July 3, starting at 6pm. This special Independence Day event offers a fun and safe alternative for individuals and pets with noise sensitivity.

After two years of laser light shows, the Sound has transitioned to an exciting new feature: the Star Spangle Glow, an LED Bracelet Experience. These bracelets synchronize to create a dynamic light display, ensuring a unique and engaging celebration. Schedule:6–8pm: Creature Teacher, DFW Disc Dog Demonstrations (event lawn), Dallas Symphony Orchestra petting zoo, Spin the Spectrum, Face painting-Balloon artist, and Arts and crafts area

This free program introduces children (ages 12 and younger) and their adult companions to the world of art through fun gallery explorations and related studio-art projects. Sun. 7/7 - Drawing from the Collection for Children. 2pm. Each Drawing from the Collection for Children session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. For ages 5-12. Artist Instructor: July - Christopher Najera. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet is located at the information desk. @Modern Art Museum

Mon. 7/8-7/12 - Snapology Jr Scientists: All About Animals (4-6 yrs) TKP Half-Day Summer Camps. 1-3:30pm. Everyday between 7/8-7/12 at TKP The Keller Pointe Stay N' Play. Fee: $217. In Snapology's Junior Scientists: All About Animals class, your little zoologists will learn all about the differences between vertebrates and invertebrates, warm blooded and cold-blooded creates, reptiles and mammals, and so much more while playing creatively with LEGO DUPLO bricks and K'Nex building materials. Children will be too busy exploring the animal world to realize that they are gaining critical social, motor, and developmental skills. Register online. @Keller Pointe


Mon. 7-8-7-12 - Art Camp (ages 11-13). 10 am – 2 pm. Member $275, Nonmember $330. Two artists lead this group through gallery activities and studio instruction, rotating between two classrooms during the day. Lunch is provided each day. Art Camp emphasizes learning through direct observation of art and thoughtful activities. We are especially excited to focus on the exhibition Surrealism and Us: Caribbean and African Diasporic Artists since 1940 for the 2024 summer season. Distinguished area artists design and lead art activities that encompass everything from artmaking in the traditional sense to interdisciplinary exploration. Art campers spend time in the galleries and on the grounds exploring the art and architecture, followed by time in the museum studio where they work with two artists each session. The last day of camp ends with a reception and exhibition of the campers’ artwork to celebrate their creative accomplishments with family and friends. Campers make exciting discoveries concerning art, the world, and themselves through Art Camp at the Modern. @Modern Art Museum


7/8-7/11 - Museum School Summer Programs. Museum School prides itself on its developmentally-appropriate, experiential, engaging learning environments. Young children (ages 4 or 5 years old by September 1, 2024) are encouraged to discover and dream of one day becoming astronauts, engineers, historians, paleontologists and so much more through their encounters with real objects and real stories. @Fort Worth Science Museum


7/8-7/11 - Summer STEM Squad. STEM Squad summer classes are for rising 1st – 4th graders. Class topics vary each session, always keeping an engineering focus with a creative slant. Activities are designed so that students are able to construct their own knowledge of the world through hands-on experiences. @Fort Worth Science Museum


Tues. 7/9 - The Singing Zoologist, 2pm, all ages, meeting room. Lucas Miller blends music and humor to teach children about science. Get ready, get set, GO! @Keller Public Library


Tues. 7/9 - Pictures an d Pages / Fotos y Libros. 10:30-11:30am. Join us for stories and creative play—with flexible options for learning in English, Spanish, or both!  This free program is designed for children (ages 4–6) and their adult partners. Sun. 7/14 - Family Festival: Ice Cream Sunday. 12-5pm. Celebrate art and community during a free event featuring live performances, art making, gallery explorations, and more! In addition to enjoying family activities, you can beat the summer heat with complimentary Melt ice cream, (while supplies last)! No reservations necessary. Admission to Art and War in the Renaissance: The Battle of Pavia Tapestries will be waived during the event. Sat. 7/20 - Special Needs Screening at Studio Movie Grill- 11 am Our sensory-friendly Special Needs Screenings present movies with the lights up, the volume low, and moving around, talking, and even dancing in the aisles are welcome. Special Needs Screenings are shown on select Saturdays at all SMG locations unless noted otherwise. Tickets are available at the Box Office only as early as the Wednesday prior to these screenings. Mon. 7/22-7/26 - Junior Curators Summer. Are you interested in biology, history, and conservation? Then this is for you! Work closely with our collections team as you learn about the care of the Museum’s collection. Students will learn how our team preserves the Museum’s vast collection of specimens and artifacts, research topics of choice, plan, build, and work with other like-minded peers to create an exhibit to be displayed in the Museum School’s entrance niches! Junior Curators program is for rising 5th – 8th graders. This weeklong summer class runs Monday – Friday, 9 AM-3 PM. @Fort Worth Science Museum

Thurs. 7/25 - Story Time at the Sid. 10:30am. You’ll enjoy black-and-white picture book favorites and free activities in the galleries inspired by the new special exhibition at the Sid Richardson Museum: Remington and Russell in Black and White. The Fort Worth Public Library will be on site to provide information on summer programs, reading lists, and on-the-spot Library Card sign-ups. Books and activities will be geared for ages 4-8, but the whole family is welcome. @Sid Richardson Museum
